  • Twin Peaks have shared a brand new track from their upcoming album, Down in Heaven. The song, called "Holding Roses," shows the Chicago garage rockers sunnier side. It may be a breakup song, but the bright melody strikes an interesting contrast. Down in Heaven drops on May 13. [SPIN]

  • Singer-songwriter Bill Callahan teamed up with The Echocentrics, the music project of Austin based multi-instrumentalist Adrian Quesada, for a new track called "Gettin' Away With Your Gal." The song will be featured on The Echocentrics' new album, Echo Hotel (out May 20). [Pitchfork]

  • Sturgill Simpson was last night's musical guest on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert. During the show, he performed "Brace For Impact (Live a Little)," a song from his recently released album A Sailor's Guide to Earth. Also, Simpson joined Colbert in a duet about Waffle House called "No Shoes, No Shirt, No Knuckleheads." Watch both performances below. [CoS]

  • Get your summer reading list ready, because Moby, one of the most fascinating musicians of our time, is gearing up to release his memoirs. The electronic music legend's book, titled Porcelain, will his shelves on May 17. This summer he will head out on a national book tour, which will bring him to Seattle on June 23 at the Seattle Public Library. [Stereogum]
