  • It’s been five years since she’s toured the States, but who knows how long it’s been since she’s been to Seattle? That all changes in 2017 as PJ Harvey embarks on a North American tour in support of The Hope Six Demolition Project. A press release states she’ll be joined by an impressive 10-piece band, including musicians Alain Johannes, John Parish, Mick Harvey, Alessandro Stefana, Enrico Gabrielli, Jean-Marc Butty, Kenrick Rowe, and Terry Edwards. The Seattle show is scheduled for Friday, May 5th at WaMu Theatre. Tune in to The Morning Show tomorrow, Thursday, December 8th, for your chance to win a pair of tickets to the show, before they even go on sale to the public! [Spin]

  • Who can melt the heart of “emotionally-spayed” artist Ryan Adams? None other than internet celebri-cat Lil’ BUB, who interviews the typically sour singer/songwriter for her web series, Lil BUB’s Big SHOW. In the eight minute clip, the two “talk” about his forthcoming full-length, Prisoner, slated for February 17th release via Pax Am/Blue Note/Capitol. Adams dissects “sniplets” of new songs, gives an update on his own 3 cats (Theo, Vincent, and Agnes), and even writes a song for Lil’ BUB on the spot, somehow working lyrics about space, time travel, telekinesis, with yarn and yogurt. It’s pretty charming, and shows the softer side of Adams. Watch below: [Consequence of Sound]

  • This past summer, FKA twigs held a free dance workshop in Baltimore’s Lithuanian Hall. She later said, “When I was thinking about doing a dance project, the obvious places would be LA or New York but I thought why not go to a place that obviously has so much soul and so much amazing energy? You’ll be able to connect with them rather than being another artist that is passing through.” In a series of tweets, she invited anyone who wanted to participate to attend, and nearly 400 people answered the call on what was later reported to be the hottest day of the year. Director Nick Walker captured what unfolded, and now shares the Baltimore Dance Project, a black-and-white documentary of the day. Watch a trailer below, and watch the entire short film here, and have some tissues handy, ’cause it’s pretty damn beautiful. [Stereogum]

  • Besides playing a benefit for Seattle Childrens Hospital, guitar god J. Mascis found the time to take on the late night TV circuit. On Monday, he kicked ass on the game show @midnight with Chris Hardwick, going head-to-head with two professional comedians, and kinda slaying. (Watch below for his takes on #AddaSongRuinaMovie and tips for global warming.) And then last night, he and his band Dinosaur Jr. stopped by Conan, tearing through the track “Goin Down” off their most recent LP, Give A Glimpse Of What Yer Not. Where will J pop up next?
