Monday Music News

  • It’s been a year since the release of David Bowie‘s Blackstar, the #1 Album of 2016, as voted on by KEXP listeners. And to mark what would have been his 70th birthday, an EP has been released featuring some of the last songs this musical icon recorded, including “No Plan”, “Killing a Little Time”, “When I Met You”, and the previously released track “Lazarus.” The songs appear in the musical Lazarus, which is currently running at London’s Kings Cross Theatre through January 21st, but this is the first time they’ve been available on a release. A video has been shared for the track “No Plan,” which you can stream below. Director Tom Hingston captures a crowd of people outside a television store, with a posthumous clip of Bowie. And keep it tuned to KEXP as our David Bowie tribute continues on our through Tuesday, January 10th. [ Under the Radar]
