  • It's been a year since the release of David Bowie's Blackstar, the #1 Album of 2016, as voted on by KEXP listeners. And to mark what would have been his 70th birthday, an EP has been released featuring some of the last songs this musical icon recorded, including “No Plan”, “Killing a Little Time”, “When I Met You”, and the previously released track “Lazarus.” The songs appear in the musical Lazarus, which is currently running at London's Kings Cross Theatre through January 21st, but this is the first time they've been available on a release. A video has been shared for the track "No Plan," which you can stream below. Director Tom Hingston captures a crowd of people outside a television store, with a posthumous clip of Bowie.   • Get ready, Seattle. U2 are heading out on a 30th anniversary tour for their landmark LP The Joshua Tree, with a Sunday, May 14th stop at CenturyLink Field. This will be the first night of the US tour dates, though the previous night's show in Vancouver is the first of the tour. Mumford & Sons will open. [ Pitchfork]

  • London-based musician James Hoare seems to thrive in duo line-ups, first with Ultimate Painting, and now with his project Proper Ornaments, which pairs him with Toy’s Max Oscarnold.   • Welsh singer-songwriter Cate Le Bon shares the title track from her forthcoming EP, Rock Pool. Listen below, via a video clip by director Casey Raymond.
