  • Radiohead are coming to Seattle! Following the Coachella announcement earlier this year, the guys have revealed some additional U.S. tour dates, including a Saturday, April 8th stop at Key Arena. Sure would be easy for them to walk next door to KEXP and hang out. Anyway! Keep it tuned to KEXP all day as we give away tickets before they’ve even gone on sale. General public purchase starts this Friday, January 20th. [ Spin]
  • We’ve got a new track from Spoon for DJ Cheryl Waters to play twice on the Midday Show! Stream the title track from their forthcoming ninth LP, Hot Thoughts. We also have confirmation that album will be out on March 17th via Matador. For this year’s SXSW, the guys will recreate the legendary Austin, TX venue Emo’s. Via a press release, they report, “The band will curate a unique line up each night and will stubbornly be referring to the venue as ‘Eno’s.’” [ Pitchfork]

  • And more new music from Surfer Blood: check out the track “Frozen” from their forthcoming fourth album Snowdonia, out February 3rd via Joyful Noise. As we reported last month, it’ll be the band’s first release since the tragic passing of their guitarist Thomas Fekete, who passed away in 2016 after a battle with cancer. The Florida-based quartet are playing two nights — Saturday, February 11th and Sunday, February 12th — at Barboza. [ Under the Radar]

  • When I first read the description of the new Strand of Oaks video, I thought it read that the band were “playing with kittens,” so I was like, “Yay! Gotta share this.” But, no, I was wrong: it’s “playing with knives.” Well, I’ll share it anyway. This beloved project of Tim Showalter shares a clip for the track “Rest Of It” from his upcoming album, Hard Love, out February 17th via Dead Oceans. Watch below. Showalter shows up in Seattle on Friday, March 24th at Neumos. [ Stereogum]
