Live Video: Father John Misty

photo by Matthew B. Thompson (view set)

Back in April, Father John Misty (aka Josh Tillman) had an in-depth, intimate chat with DJ Cheryl Waters before his latest LP, Pure Comedy, had even arrived via Sub Pop Records. (You can listen to that here.) A month later, he reunited with Cheryl for this unique live in-studio session, performing the first four tracks off — what he calls — his “polarizing” new album. With a modest acoustic guitar and Jon Titterington on piano, Tillman delivered a raw, stripped-down set, with the cozy comfort of a house show. Check out this very special KEXP in-studio session below:

Thank you, KEXP, for the opportunity to see our favorite artists, live, in such an intimate setting. Cheryl asked great questions and Josh sang beautifully and was incredibly charming. Thank you, again, for arranging this special performance!
