It's been over twenty years since his death and yet Kurt Cobain is still contributing to the music industry. On November 13, Montage of Heck: The Home Recordings, an album of home-recorded Cobain tracks will be released. A special 7" of his songs, "And I Love Her (Beatles Cover)" and "Sappy," will be out on December 7. Listen to the "Sappy" recording below. [Pitchfork]

More news from The Cure: Following that awesome remix of Ride's "Vapour Trail", they've just announced they'll hit the road on their first tour in eight years. Only three dates have been announced - in LA, Chicago and NYC - but the rest of the 25 North American dates will be revealed in January. David Bowie lent his musical talent to the theme song of a new show called The Last Panthers. The song, which wasn't written for the show, is an unreleased Bowie track called "Darkstar." Today, you can hear an excerpt of the song in the show's opening credits. [Stereogum]

Sensational indie rocker Courtney Barnett pays tribute to her Aussie elders on a cover of "Shivers" by The Boys Next Door (pre-The Birthday Party). The song, recorded at Jack White's Third Man studio in Nashville, is the B-side to “Boxing Day Blues Revisited”, a followup single to the original song on her 2015 album, Sometimes I Sit and Think, Sometimes I Just Sit. The single hits stores on October 16 via Third Man Records, but you can listen to Barnett's moody cover now. [Spin]

Inventions, the side project of Explosions in the Sky's Mark T. Smith and Eluvium's Matthew Cooper, will drop their new EP Blanket Wave on October 16. It's a short album with two sprawling, ethereal tracks that hit about 6 minutes each. Check out the album's second song "Hearing Loss." [CoS]

Last night, Talib Kweli was the musical guest on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon." During the show The Roots and Rhapsody joined him in debuting a brand new track called "Every Ghetto." [Pitchfork]
